Macquarie Street

Macquarie Street has Sydney's first public building. Running from the harbour with The Royal Botanic Gardens on one side and the CBD on the other. The historical buildings include The State Library of NSW, Parliament House, Sydney Hospital, The Mint, Hyde Park Barracks and St Mary' Cathedral. Cross College Street to Hyde Park and enjoy the Australian gardens towards the Pool of Reflection at the ANZAC Memorial. Take some time to traverse along Art Gallery Road to The Art Gallery of NSW. If the day is fine a stroll through the Domain gardens to Mrs Macquaries Point which gives stunning views over the Opera House to The Sydney Harbour Bridge. There are plenty of cafes and restaurants with tables spilling on to the pavements, one for fun is Andrew Boy Charlton Swimming Centre Cafe which looks over to the Sydney Fleet Base. Plenty to enjoy.
