Overview

McDonalds is very easily found on the Knaresborough retail park. It is fully wheelchair accessible with ramps, handrails and large automatic doors. The McDonalds had a variety of different methods of communication when in there to allow people to order their food- just remember to take a bank card if you wish to use the interactive screen to order and pay.

Transport & Parking

The disabled parking is to the rear of the building. It could become a little confusing as there are disabled parking bays which are signposted however they are aimed at customs visiting individual shops at the other side of the retail park so are a little walk away from the McDonalds. The McDonalds does have disabled parking of its own, this us located at the rear of the building and a wheelchair accessible entrance leads on from there. Relating to public transport there is a bus stop right at the side of McDonalds, the path also is accessible and therefore would mean using public transport to get there would defiantly be an option.

Access

The path leading all the way from the car park is completely flat and wheelchair accessible, there were two zebra crossings on either road so crossing the road (drive thru) to get to the entrance was simple and easy. There is also handrails all down the side and front of the building as well as automatic doors on entry. When in the building it was spacious and easy to navigate around both on foot and with the wheelchair. Floors are smooth, not slippy and very clean. When ordering food there was an interactive screen which would read an order out loud if asked, there were also staff on hand to help use these screens and staff at the tills if you wished to order this way instead.

Toilets

The loo was totally assessable in terms of flat ground etc however the door to get into the corridor where the toilets are is only an average tall but single door therefore we feel as though someone with a wider chair would not get through the door.

Staff

The staff were very welcoming and friendly. Staff were more then happy too show us how to use the interactive screens. Staff brought our food over too us so we didn't have too wait at the side of the tills. Staff were very patient and answered any questions we had about the food.

Anything else you wish to tell us?

We would defiantly recommend this McDonalds to others and will be visiting again. The only thing we would do differently next time is bring our bank cards so we are able to use and pay at the interactive machines. On this visit we selected our order and went to pay however the only method of payment was my bank card, unfortunately this wasn't clearly shown so we had to cancel our order and go to the tills instead, this was confusing to us and our customers.
