The Museum of Barnstaple and North Devon tells the stories of the people and landscapes of North Devon. Our collections include everything from our most ancient rocks to contemporary artworks. Opening Hours Monday to Saturday 10:00am - 4:30pm Admission to the Museum is free.

Disabled Access at Museum of Barnstaple and North Devon

We have partnered with Visit England to create a downloadable Accessibility Guide for visitors. The guide advises on navigating our Grade II listed building and new extension and looks to ensure an inclusive museum experience for all. Please get in touch if you have any suggestions on how to improve our visitor experience. Wheelchair Access and Lift The museum building and lift is wheelchair-accessible. If your wheelchair or mobility device is 75 cm or wider, access to certain areas of the Grade II listed building may be limited. Please contact us if you have a larger device and we can help you plan your visit. Toilets and Baby Changing Facilities Accessible toilets are available on every floor of the museum. Baby changing facilities are available in the ground floor toilet. Induction Loops There is a fixed induction loop situated in the Learning Room. Disabled Parking Parking permits obtained from the reception along with your orange/blue badge provide access to two disabled bays in the museum car park, located off Taw Vale (EX32 8LN). Bike Racks Several bike racks are located outside the museum and opposite in the surrounding square. Dogs Assistance dogs are welcomed at the museum. We ask visitors to remain responsible for their dogs at all times during their visit. Please ask at reception if you require a drinking bowl.

There are two disabled bays in the Museum car park outside of the Museum entrance, located off Taw Vale (EX32 8LN). Parking permits can be obtained from the Museum reception desk - to be displayed along with your orange/blue badge.
