Venue Description

Newton Lodge is a purpose built, self catering accommodation which sleeps eight ( 4 bedrooms). It has been designed to facilitate wheelchair and hoist users. All areas are accessible, with one twin bedroom fitted with a ceiling hoist from bed to ensuite bathroom. The spacious open-plan kitchen has a dropped hob and sink suitable for wheelchair users. All doors have a clear opening width of 36" and the bungalow is accessed via ramps to the front and side. There is ample exterior parking and the outside space, including the BBQ area is accessible. Newton Lodge works closely with Care Agencies, who will provide packages if required.

Accessibility

Entrance: Ramped entrances to front and side of bungalow with hand rails. Plenty of car parking space with level tarmac finish. External and internal Doors have clear 36" width opening. Push-pad door opening to twin bedroom with ceiling hoist. Open plan kitchen & living area with space for wheelchair turning. Ensuite bathroom has overhead hoist , grab rails were necessary and left transfer to toilet.

Toilets

Newton Lodge has three level access wet-rooms however only one of the bathrooms is equipped with grab rails, shower chair and left hand toilet transfer. The washbasin in the ensuite bathroom is fully accessible and the shaving mirror is also at an accessible height.

Staff

Newton Lodge is a self catering accommodation and as such does not have on-site staff. A care package can be organised via a local Agency if required.

Newton Lodge is set in an enclosed garden which is safe to allow assistance dogs freedom of movement.

Other assistance dog facilities

Water bowls & feeding bowls can be provided on request and dogs are permitted to toilet in the garden, provided the area is cleared after. "Poop" bags can be supplied on request.
