Overview

We found the castle very wheelchair accessible - though I was definitely pleased to have my able-bodied husband there. Particularly pleased to be able to go up on the ramparts and get lovely views of the city. Couldn't see the medieval toilets, but I think that was the only bit I couldn't go to. Bit disappointed that on our visit it was almost entirely designed for children (school holidays) and not a lot about the history of the building. However, the attached museum was more to our liking. Some areas were a bit tight to manoeuvre around, and some stairwells a little too close to where I was rolling - but just required a little care.

Transport & Parking

drove and parked directly outside the entrance. Only 2 spaces available, and don't know what you would do if they were full, as it is a steep 'walk' up from the city.
