Attractive cafe in accessible garden centre

Easy wheeling on smooth surfaces both indoors and outdoors. Car parkmon a slope though.

The inside has a smooth surface for easy wheeling. There is enough space between most of the displays to allow wheelchair access. More remarkably, the outside plant areas are paved, whereas many garden centres use gravel in these areas. There is a large selection of plants. The cafe has table service and a spectacular view. There is some outside seating which is also paved and many of the seats seemed to have arms. A slight drawback is the style of the table legs in the cafe which do not allow a wheelchair user to get close ( see picture.) We were able to move the footrests to allow access. Lunches include hot meals such as fish and chips, toasties and baked potatoes. There is a large display of cakes which are also available to take away.

I travelled to this place by personal vehicle
About two thirds of the car park is tarmac and the rest compacted gravel which should be fairly easy to wheel on. Unfortunately the car park is on a slope but there's not anything they can do about that. We managed to park near the top of it so it wasn't too hard to push the chair. The top two spaces had dome faint yellow marking so I assume they had st one time been painted as accessible bays. To reach the paved path to the garden centre there is a narrow band (4-5 feet?) of cobbles but these were fairly flat so not too bumpy. Note that the entrance is to the right at the top of the car park and not the large imposing building straight ahead. It is the outdoor plant area.

Accessible Toilets
Good
The toilet has horizontal grips on both sides (one drop down). There is room for a wheelchair user and assistant. There is not a red cord. The door opens outwards in a slightly difficult position because of nearby displays. The light switch is outside, quite high up and probably not reachable for an independent wheelchair user.

Cafe stsff very pleasant and helpful. The garden centre also contains a post office.
