Venue Description

Open throughout the year, the Palace of Holyroodhouse stands at the end of Edinburgh's Royal Mile against the spectacular backdrop of Arthur’s Seat. During your visit, discover the Palace’s close associations with some of Scotland’s most well-known historic figures such as Mary, Queen of Scots and Bonnie Prince Charlie, and find out how the Palace is still used by The Queen when carrying out official engagements in Scotland. The Palace of Holyroodhouse is largely accessible and we welcome visitors with different access requirements. A concessionary ticket rate is available for visitors with disabilities, and visitors who require a companion are eligible for a free access-companion ticket. Toilets

Accessible toilets are located in the Café at the Palace, which can be visited without a ticket. A Changing Places is available at the Scottish Parliament, across the road.

Staff

A number of the warden team have had Autism Awareness and Hidden Disability awareness training. Tailored visits or special requests from visitors with disabilities can be advised on a case by case basis by the dedicated Community and Access coordinator at the Palace of Holyroodhouse.
