Overview

An attractive walled cemetery with tree-lined avenues and monumental buildings.Here you will find the graves of many famous French men and women and some foreign celebs who died in Paris including Oscar Wilde and Jim Morrison.

Transport & Parking

Can't comment on the parking. Nearby Place Gambetta is extensively served by wheelchair accessible buses. The cemetery is best entered by wheelchair at the gate at the end of Avenue du Père Lachaise, a short wheel or walk from Place Gambetta.

Access

The cemetery is on a sloping site. Cobbled avenues and gravel paths with bumps from tree roots would make it hard going for solo manual wheelchair users and it is quite tiring for accompanists. Toilets

We didn'r see one. There are several Sanisettes (free wheelchair-accessible street loos) in the vicinty.
