Pittodrie Stadium

As a disabled season ticket holder I find pittodrie friendly and everyone is helpful. I'm not wheelchair bound, but I do use crutches to move around. As a disabled person I'm entitled to a free carers seat alongside my own seat. The stewards help me too my seat by holding my spare crutch as I use the rail to pull me up. When trying to find my season ticket seat the ticket office were super helpful and in order to get my carer's seat I supplied them with a copy of my PIP award letter. The toilets are a bit of a squeeze but still usable and clean with sanitary products provided if a lady gets caught short. I use a lift to get to the floor I need. I also know as I've met the provider that there is a service that blind supporters of both sides can listen to slightly bias commentary (he used to sit behind me but the language got too ahem colourful.) The only downside to being in the upper lower deck is there's no refreshment stand as its mainly made up of corporate entertainment. The disabled parking unfortunately is on a hill which is not ideal there are some are flat but they are reserved. However there is also a regular bus service that has wheelchair spaces with ramp and they also lean too mostly equipped with WiFi. There's also a local taxi service that has a desk at the corporate entrance of the Richard Donald Stand where the taxis go right up to the door with wheelchair access vehicles provided.

I attended the Aberdeen FC Vs. Hearts FC match in December 2017 and overall it was a alright experience but defiantly can do better!

As a season ticket holder at Pittodrie, I obviously attend very regularly. However, as much as I love 'The Dons', I must admit that the 118 year old stadium is not very wheelchair friendly. It all starts with there being very few disabled parking spaces so arrive early or be forced to park quite a fair bit away from the stadium. Once inside the stadium, the view is pretty poor as you're on floor level and have to put up with the substitutes warming up in front of you as well as stewards going back and fore. There is only one accessible refreshments kiosk and that is located in the Richard Donald Stand so if you're like me and are coming to sit in the Merkland Stand, you will have to ask somebody to get you some refreshments when required. The atmosphere at Pittodrie on normal match-days is pretty poor but if you choose to come to a game where we play Celtic or Rangers, you're in for a treat as we normally get a full-house and everyone is 'buzzing'. No complaints about the toilets, they're fully accessible and staff are also very helpful and always say hello. So I may not sound like an Aberdeen fan after this review but the Dons are a very good team and watching them play makes you forget about all of the issues for 90 minutes so if you choose to come along one weekend, I wish you a great time.
