I stayed nearby for a holiday with my family and we decided to pop to the beach. I live in another part of Cornwall so I've been to plenty of Cornish beaches, and Poldhu really is lovely. The boardwalk to the beach meant that I had a great view. I've been to beaches where the only disabled access is over the beach (looking down from a cliff for example), so it was really nice to actually be on the beach in amongst the dunes. We just sat there for ages soaking it all up! The boardwalk doesn’t go to the café unfortunately. But if you have someone with you who can walk up there then it’s just a short way from the boardwalk. We got takeaway teas while enjoying the view.
Disabled Access In and Around

Access from the car park to the boardwalk is a bit bumpy in the car park, the very short path is narrow but I could fit my power chair, and the road is narrow so not too much distance to cross, but it can be a bit busy in summer. The boardwalk itself is bumpy as the planks have warped in the elements. But it's more than worth it for the view! At the end of the boardwalk is a wide area where you can sit and enjoy the view without being in the way. It's just so nice that the boardwalk has been fitted, allowing wheelchair users onto the beach.
Parking & Transport

The car park (gravel surface) is just the other side of the road from the boardwalk. The disabled spaces are right by the entrance and right by the short path which, although narrow, is smoother than the car park. The short path goes to the road where you can cross straight to the boardwalk. Parking is meant to be pay and display but there was no machine when we went.
Accessible Toilets
0We didn't use the toilets but I think they were just portaloos in the car park. The website says there's a disabled toilet but I'm afraid we didn't go and check it out.
