Overview

If you are looking for a wheelchair friendly hotel in the centre of Cardiff, then Premier Inn is a good choice. Fully wheelchair accessible, central location, friendly staff and most of all affordable.

Transport & Parking

3.5

We arrived in Cardiff by train, there is a train station next to the hotel although you need to walk around the block (250 yds approx) to the disabled access entrance. There was on street parking outside the hotel although we didn't use it. As the hotel is in the city centre, accessible public transport is good. There is also a dedicated mobility assistance vehicle which you can book or flag down.

Access

4.5

For a wheelchair user, there is an access ramp from the street to the door. A push button access on the front door, flat reception and you are greeted as you enter. There are lifts to all floors, evacuation seats and wide corridor's. From memory, the fire doors in the corridors were not automatic, but we managed. The rooms were basic, spacious and comfortable. We didn't actually book an accessible room but was offered one when we entered the hotel. All public areas were accessible in a manual wheelchair including the bar and restaurant area.

Toilets

We didn't use a dedicated accessible loo in the hotel. The loo in our room was adequate for our needs.

Staff

4.5

The hotel was very nice and the staff were an added bonus. Upon arrival we were discretely offered an accessible room without asking, we refused as we wanted to test a basic room. Throughout our stay, each member of staff was attentive, patient and friendly.

Anything else you wish to tell us?

Overall, I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel to a manual wheelchair user. If we stayed again, we would book an accessible room. When we return to Cardiff, we would be happy to stay at this hotel again.
