Overview

As this was the first hotel that I stayed in since the pandemic, I was a bit anxious about the Covid risk, however, allowing for some risk, I did feel quite safe in the family room itself. It was clean, spacious and comfortable and the staff didn't enter to clean as part of the Covid safety measures. As there are no restrictions now in England, masks were optional for both visitors and staff and this was mixed. People are also mixing more now indoors but on the whole, people were happy to adapt to my personal boundaries and the staff were incredibly friendly, welcoming and helpful, opening fire doors for me and calling and keeping the lift door open for me. I hadn't booked a disabled room (I booked a family room) so I can't comment on the disabled room but for a non-adapted room, there was enough room for me and my powerchair. The bathroom had a bath and there was enough room for me to manoeuvre with the help of a P.A. but there wasn't enough room for my wheelchair. The bed was really comfy for me (I need a specialised bed at home) and I had a great night's sleep.

Transport & Parking

We drove down and there is disabled parking available onsite but if it's very busy, you might struggle to get a space, however, there are non-disabled spaces in the overspill car-park across the road. There are also buses from Bristol to Glastonbury which take about an hour and a half and there is a bus-stop located outside the Town Hall; the bus stops outside the hotel and takes about ten minutes.

Access

There are automatic entrance doors leading into reception, however, there are heavy manual doors leading out of the reception area towards the lift. Staff always helped me with these doors; the lift is a bit tight for a powerchair and another passenger but it's just manageable for me. The room itself was great for a non-disabled family room.

Toilets

As I didn't have a disabled room, I can't comment on their accessibility but they look good on the website: here's a link to the accessible room details: https://www.premierinn.com/gb/en/hotels/england/somerset/glastonbury/glastonbury.html

Staff

Staff were amazing, friendly, helpful and welcoming; I felt relaxed and reassured.

Anything else you wish to tell us?

As mentioned above, Covid restrictions have been lifted in England but allowing for this, I felt secure in the room and perhaps less secure in the public spaces where some guests wore masks but most didn't so I just didn't linger inside. The room ventilation is a more energy-friendly system and it does not recycle air so that was reassuring for me as I'm on a ventilator. There was always hand sanitiser available and staff at reception were behind a plastic screen. Overall, I had a lovely stay here, I've stayed a few times before and I'll definitely stay again.
