This review is especially helpful for those who have or use the following: Wheelchair, Powerchair, Mobility Scooter

Overview

This is a beautiful place for wheelchair users to visit, fully step-free and easy to get around, with lovely staff and loads of really good art. Strongly recommended.

Transport & Parking

5

Greenwich is served by Greenwich National Rail station, which is fully step-free, and by Cutty Sark DLR station, which is likewise fully step-free. In addition numerous bus routes serve Greenwich, some of them embracing also North Greenwich Jubilee Line station, which is likewise fully step-free.

Access

4.5

The step-free access is excellent. Use the middle entrance at the front of the building (the same side of the building as the river). There is a good lift inside, with room for two wheelchairs. The only minor flaw was that the glass doors at the front entrance are not electrically operated, and are difficult for a wheelchair user to open and pass through without help. Electric doors here would convert this review into a straight five-star review.

Toilets

I didn't visit the accessible toilet, so I don't know about it.

Staff

All staff and volunteers were helpful and charming and keen to share historical information about the building. Top marks!

Make sure you look out of the windows, especially towards the Isle of Dogs. See my photo below!
