Overview

Rancho Grande is a sea front restaurant, serving a wide variety of food. It also offers take away cakes and there is also a small shop area selling food such as biscuits, etc which would make nice gifts. The restaurant has indoor and outdoor seating. The ground floor is step free.

Transport & Parking

The restaurant is on a part of the padestrianised sea front. Although the immediate area outside the restaurant is on the level, to get to where the restaurant is involves walking down a slope regardless of which direction you approach it from. Both slopes have a hand rail. I have posted a photo of the stretch of sea front, which includes the steepest of the 2 slopes to give you an idea of how it looks. I found it very do-able in either direction with my crutch and I saw lots of people with walking aids in the area.

Access

There is outdoor seating on the pavement outside the restaurant which is step free. The ground floor is also step free but the upper floor is only accessible by a grand, sweeping staircase with handrails on both side, which curves towards the top. The tables and chairs are free standing.

I didn't use these during my visit.

Staff

The waiter service was a little bit slow to take my order, but nothing to spoil the visit in fact it made me feel I could relax and I wouldn't be hurried out, but the arrival of the food (in my case cake) and asking for the bill were fine. Staff speak fluent English.

Anything else you wish to tell us?

This is a popular sea front restaurant serving meals but also offering coffee and cakes. The cake counter is impressive. They have menus in English. It's traditionally decorated with a beamed ceiling, balcony and chandeliers. This is a nice place where you can sit and relax and watch the world go by. I would definately go back again and certainly recommend it.
