Overview

This little cafe is on the south side and the western end of Rose Street which runs parallel with Princes Street, next to Charlotte Square. It’s all one level and not packet with chairs and tables, it’s a family orientated environment as there were families there. The wee ones had been offered drawing materials and lollies to compliment the children’s menu. The food, well prepared, well presented and particularly enjoyable the traditional and vegetarian breakfast were very good, we were offered alternatives to some items we did not prefer, which was good value. There was a wheelchair user and he family there and a chair had been removed and 2 tables put together for them all to be together. The staff could have not been more friendly and attentive, I could imagine it being busy during the hols and the festival.

Transport & Parking

For the non driver, the City has one of the most frequent and additional needs, access buses. All with extending platforms, drop down floors with wheelchair and mobility seating. With this being the Main Street in Edinburgh’s Ne Town, the are buses in either direction every 2 minutes, from this cafe 50m from the tram stop 300m. As with any old city parking is limited but there is blue badge, pay bay parking in nearby Charlotte Square. If you are visiting Edinburgh from elsewhere by car, drive to the nearest park and ride and if your Scottishand very a certain age your pass is free, there are a range of fares which are day savers an hour of parking charge equals a day saver, unlimited throughout the City for 24h.

Could not fault them, very family orientated, although English is not their first language they misinterpreted someone’s order.

Anything else you wish to tell us?

This was just the right time and place to have what wanted, I would go back and certainly during the Festival as they have chairs and tables outside. If that’s what you like I would recommend it, especially with wee ones.
