Large holiday house East Neuk of Fife
On arrival there is ample parking space on a slight incline. The front door is reached by 3 steps with no hand rail, the third is an up and over the threshold into the porch, internally there is a little lip into an enormous hall.
Doorways lead to the utility/laundry room which has everything you need.
The downstairs bathroom/shower room
is neat but fairly accessible. My portable suction grab rail didn’t stuck to the wall as it’s textured, there are no handles to assist in and off the loo but the vanity cupboard is immediately there for balance.
This is a large holiday home with 5 bedrooms, two of which are on the ground floor accessible through a door to a link corridor (heating control is high up on the left).
Through the door there is a double bedroom, reasonably spacious with turning circle space at the far side of the bed.
The right turn through the door, turn right, it’s a right angle, sharp & a bit narrow but wide enough professionally self propelled adult RGK.
The 2nd downstairs bedroom holds 2 double beds which are lower, there is plenty of space to manoeuvre a manual or electric wheelchair.
At the end of the link corridor is a small snug with L shape sofa.
The kitchen is off the hallway, it is grand with loads of lower cupboards, there ua an American style fridge with easy access to both fridge and freezer.
There’s a dining room table with 4 chairs and a bench at the back.
The kitchen has super flooring making it a great option for those using wheels.
The downside is the glasses and mugs are all up high and even an average size person needs to go on their tip toes to get them!
There’s a central island with some stools but it’s not too high and I could comfortably sit & eat there in my chair.
Off the kitchen through double doors there is a spacious lounge with a gigantic couch ample for 6 adults, it has the biggest wall mounted tv I have ever seen.. There is also a standalone chair that we discovered had wheels and no brake, it’s actually a pull out bed.
Open plan from the living room there is a luxurious dining area that easily sits 8 with room to turn no bother.
Rosemount House is a good find for larger parties with members needing a ground floor space.
