    Royal College of Physicians Museum

    About

Welcome to the Royal College of Physicians (RCP). We are the oldest medical college in England. The collections in our care tell the story of the RCP, doctors, and the history of medicine. Founded in 1518 by King Henry VIII, the RCP has spent over five centuries changing medicine and working for patients and doctors. An independent charity the RCP represents over 40,000 doctors around the world working to improve patient care and reduce illness. The museum, heritage library and archive team care for collections of portraits, silverware, letters, rare books and medical instruments on display throughout our Regent’s Park headquarters. You can also visit the Medicinal Gardens that contains over 1,000 species of plants with a connections to medicine. Through these collections our mission is to engage, inspire and entertain people with the history of medicine and the importance of physicians within it.
