Overview

A very nice hotel when you need a decent cup of coffee overlooking the Thames river. You will arrive at the main drive off the A308 (photo 1) and a nice little driveway leads through the barriers (photo 2) where reception told us we need not register the car, as barriers will automatically lift. The main car park lies straight ahead, a Little way beyond main hotel entrance, but the path is easy enough to ride along (photo 3) however, if you were lucky enough to find one of the four disabled bays by the front entrance (photo 4) then it would be very easy to get into the hotel as the entrance is on the level, with automatic doors, and also with pull handle doors on each side of the revolving centre door (photo 5). You enter into a fairly large hall, nicely tiled and very clean and welcoming (photo 6) with an attractive reception desk waiting to welcome you if you need to book in for an overnight stay (photo 7) and just beyond the desk stands the lift if needed (photo 8). It is also along that corridor that you will find the toilets (photo 9) just ladies and gents, we did not see a disabled toilet, but these are more than able to take wheelchairs (photo 10) and you may be able to spin around inside. We found lots of seating provided, but a little full as it was mid morning (photo 11) and we spotted the coffee being prepared (photo 12) but you need to settle in and wait for waitress to come to take your order, just be prepared to wait a while, but at least it was a nice enough coffee (photo 13). You may be lucky enough to sit by the modern attractive fireplace (photo 14) but it was pleasantly warm enough inside anyway on this cold snowy morning. If you arrive nearer to lunch time, then just beyond the bar (photo 15) a pleasant restaurant is available (photo 16) with seating that overlooks the terrace (photo 17) with views over the Thames (photo 18). OUR FINAL THOUGHTS If you wanted to stay in the area, then we would recommend this hotel, it certainly is handy for historic Runnymede, and just two minutes away from the Motorway M25. We thought it had a happy buzz about it, and if there on a warm sunny day, then coffee by the Thames would be very nice. Well worth a visit, we certainly would go there again.

Transport & Parking

A pleasant drive through the valley of Runnymede for the historic signing of the Magna Carta will then take you to this pleasant hotel, although it only has four disabled bays near to the entrance, and these will more than likely be full, but it’s not too far to walk from the main car park to the entrance.

Access

Easy to push you around, no steps to worry about, and you can see what is needed, including a view over the Thames. If needed, say if you were staying here, then lift was available. Another kind person has written a review as well telling us what the room was like, and they too enjoyed there visit to this hotel.

Toilets

Did not see an actual disabled toilet, but the gents toilet was very handy, large enough for chairs, clean and tidy, with grab rails and pull cord.

Staff

Busy, hardworking, but pleasant enough.
