A seaside stroll

Date of visit: June 2019

I have experience of challenges around: dexterity or coordination and moving around.

Flat Accessible promenade with railings alongside for safety.

Some parking spaces Are available on the road next to the beach although that can be very busy during the summer months. There is a separate parking area available for along the road

Overall Rating

Good

Saltcoats has a lovely accessible Promenade which borders the sea and is fantastic for a seaside walk in the sunshine.there are also ramps to get down towards the beach. I wouldn’t advise going Fully on to the sand. There is also a cinema nearby and an ice cream if it takes your fancy!

Disabled Access In and Around

The promenade Is flat and easy to move along and there are also concrete ramps Which are quite steep to get down towards the beach. I would advise going down with someone walking beside or in front of you for protection because of the steep gradients of the ramps

There are parking spaces available on the main road next to the beach and there is also an area of parking available further along the road although this can get very busy in the summer months
