The Scandic Hotel Chain goes out of its way to provide a welcoming, comfortable and fully accessible stay for its disabled guests. All signs and lift buttons in braille. Some lowered counters at reception so wheelchair (scooter) users can actually see who they are speaking to. If there is anything extra needed for the room, they will bring it quickly. The whole accessible room is very roomy, with floors that are easy to wheel across. The bathroom has a shower with seat, and non-slip flooring. There are no grab rails by the shower, so I requested a seat with arms - it arrived minutes later. Grab rails by the toilet, which was raised. Bed very comfortable. There is a bar (free welcome drink) next to reception which also serves bar food. We ate there the first night as the restaurant was closed. Breakfast is wonderful - muelsi made from scratch: oats, seeds, nuts, dried fruits etc etc;. Scrambled eggs, bacon, fresh fruit, smoked mackerel, pickled herring, pastries, ....... Very good restaurant (not open Sundays).

everywhere fully accessible. Lifts to all floors, and in the dining room (waiter operated, but always a friendly waiter on hand) Entrance door with button for opening
Parking & Transport

There is accessible parking under the hotel for a charge, but we found a disabled spot - with no time restrictions - directly outside the hotel entrance, so we used that instead. On one of the few times it was used, there were other parks very close by

well sign-posted, full accessible, grab rails, plenty of space, very clean and well maintained

Exceptionally friendly and helpful - very well trained to deal with customers with disabilities
Additional Information
This is a hotel chain that takes disabled access very seriously. We would stay at this hotel again - and always now at a Scandic hotel if there is one available. We were able to see all of the old town that we wanted to see by mobility scooter from the hotel
