    Large event access

I visited for Glasgow ACME comic con but I've been here many times. Overall Access is really great. I borrowed a self propelled wheelchair from the venue as well as a sensory pack. Borrowed wheelchair Overall it was really great the wheelchair I borrowed was a bit heavy to maneuver as it is fairly old so could do with updating to a lighter model that sits you higher up I'm sure many of us know what borrowed wheelchairs can be like. The floor in the main hall is a bit uneven so not very easy to maneuver over. Sensory pack It was a really amazing sensory pack clearly thought through, super comfy ear defenders which I wore all day and even a communication card. I was so impressed sensory packs can be a real hit or miss but this was just amazing. Hiring process It was a pretty easy hiring process just a quick form to say what I needed and it was reserved for me very quickly, you do have to give 24 hours notice if not it's first come first serve but apart from that it was super simple. When you go to the SEC website click accessiblty and there is a form for you to fill in, tick which venue it will be for and the event. There is separate ones for sensory packs and wheelchairs. When I got to the venue I just went to the desk said my name and it was all there waiting. Seating There is very little seating inside the venue, one food stand with some benches and that's it. So unless your like me in a chair you aren't getting a seat so my friends had to sit on the floor. COVID There is no one wearing masks so not very good in terms of COVID safety.

Hall 3 access review for concert

I went in to this one blind as there was no information online about the access here. To my knowledge there is no parking, very easy building to access however, accessible toilets using radar key. Not an ideal venue for people with physical disabilities, it is probably my least favourite venue for a gig so far but I still enjoyed it!

Once in the venue the access s pretty good however parking and access to the venue is poor. The multi storey carpark was easy to find however it was not well signed to the disabled spaces on the 2d floor. Once found I found the only space left had limited space as someone had parked in the walkway area which obstructed the flat access to the exit. The car park is quite expensive with no real alternatives. The current minimum is 6.00 for up to 1 hour my visit cost £10:00 for an afternoon. There is some conflicting information on the website so I am not sure if there is a drop off area closer to the venue. Although I didn't use it when I arrived there was a shuttle cart to assist mobility challenged visitors the few hundred yards to the venue. On a downside however this service stopped at 18:00 soe 2 hours before the venue end time There are 2 lifts from floor 2 walkway which take you to the pedestrian area accessing the SECC, Armadillo and Hydro. The distance to SECC is over 200 yards but it is fairly level and fairly even surface. It is open air so fairly exposed.
