Whatever the season, there is always lots to see and do in the park with 700 acres and over 20 miles of quiet paths and bridleways for walking, cycling and horse riding, bird watching, picnicking, kite flying, angling, jogging, wayfaring, photography, exploring the park and more. There is ample Pay & Display parking, and plenty of disabled bays - blue badge holders can park for free. There is a gift shop and a privately run coffee shop at the visitor centre, where there are also toilets and a Changing Places facility. There is also a room available to hire for meetings etc. The park has 3 playgrounds, a Trim Track, fishing pegs, several bird observation points and there is an annual programme of events. Tramper hire is available at the visitor centre (booking required / charges apply). There is a car park on Shipley Hill for blue badge holders only, and the Derby Lodge Tea Room & toilets nearby.
