Shorne Woods extends over 300 acres and offers an incredible range of natural habitats to enjoy. It is testament to the dedication of our wardens and staff that the park has been given the Green Flag award every year since 2008. The park has also been awarded the Gold Medal in the Country Parks category of the South and South East In Bloom awards.

Disabled Access at Shorne Woods Country Park

Accessible features at the park include: - Changing Places Toilet - Inclusive playground including a wheelchair swing and accessible roundabout - Visitor Centre and gift shop accessible via ramped access and automatic double doors - Over 2 miles of easy access routes, ideal for wheelchair users and pushchairs - 3 Tramper mobility scooters available to hire (prior booking required) - All kissing gates are mobility gates which can be opened with a radar key - 2 accessible fishing swims with disabled parking - Wheelchair accessible picnic benches - Meeting room for hire is accessible via a lift and has a unisex accessible toilet within the room. Also has a hearing induction loop. - Blue Badge holders can purchase an annual parking ticket for £8 (can be used across all KCC Country Parks)

Accessible parking at Shorne Woods Country Park

There are 20 hard standing allocated disabled spaces which are located in the main car park nearest to the visitor centre. The visitor centre entrance is approximately 20 metres away and can be accessed via a ramp to the main entrance. In addition, there are a further 45 spaces on hard standing that are within 50 metres of the visitor centre entrance and a further 200 spaces on loose stone surfaces. If you are a Blue Badge holder, you can purchase an annual season ticket in advance of your visit for £8. The annual season ticket gives you access to all of our country park car parks free of charge during the year. To purchase your season ticket call 03000 41 72 72 and have your Blue Badge number and credit or debit card handy for reference.

The Changing Places toilet is located next to the kiosk block on the far side of the car park and is accessed via a radar key. Changing Places toilet

There is a Changing Places toilet, which includes an adult-size changing bench, toilet, sink and hoist.

Accessible toilet

A designated accessible toilet designed for wheelchair users and others with visible and non-visible accessibility requirements is available within the main public areas.
