South Machars Community Centre (SMCC) in Whithorn, Dumfries and Galloway, is a community hub with a variety of facilities and services for both the community and visitors to the area. We have regular groups and clubs, such as fiddle group, craft and chat, toddlers group and choir. We have rooms available for hire for both domestic and business uses, including a commercial kitchen. Every Tuesday we have a pop-up cafe from 9.30am to 1.30pm which offers dishes made with locally caught or grown ingredients at low prices. Our community fridge project offers free food to anyone, 7 days a week and our emergency food provision is available to support people during difficult times. We also have a volunteer run Reuse Shop, open 3 days a week which offers everything from clothing to furniture at very low prices. Look out for special events which we run throughout the year such as Making & Doing Festival of Creativity or our Food Festival.
