Southend Cliff Lift

Overall Rating

A well kept historic cable car lift that saves you climbing the 115 steps to get up the side of the cliff

Disabled Access In and Around

There is a ramp up to the waiting area for the lift which you summon by pressing the button. This is manned by volunteers between 10.30am-3pm each day. There is a ramp which is put down to exit the lift at the top.

Parking & Transport

There is plenty of parking along the seafront but much less at the top of the cliffs near the High Street.

There are no toilets.

Staff

This is run by volunteers and on donations. The operators are very friendly and passionate about preserving this wonderful historic lift.

Additional Information

There is a modern lift nearer to the pier but this is the one with the views and the wow factor.
