Overview

The SSE Arena in Belfast is an entertainment venue, hosting a wide range of events such as concerts, comedy shows, sporting events and also a range of restaurants and bars. Disabled parking bays are available in the main car park closest to the building, accessible to blue badge holders. Entry into the building is at street level and lifts are available to provide access to all levels of the building. Vertical access through the building is provided principally by three 12-person lifts, one located in the North VIP entrance, one in the South VIP entrance and one in the main entrance lobby. Staff are on hand at events to provide assistance if required. A limited number of wheelchairs are available to visitors on request. There are 12 unisex, wheelchair accessible toilets throughout the Arena. The Arena Box Office has low level counter. Hearing enhancement systems. Six dedicated viewing areas are provided, providing access for visitors using wheelchairs and companions in the venue.

Transport & Parking

Disabled parking bays are available in the main car park closest to the building. The car park operates on a first come first served basis only for all parking spaces. Blue badge holders must display their blue badges at all times whilst parked. The nearest designated bay is 100m (109yd) from the main entrance. The route from the car park to the entrance is accessible to a wheelchair user with assistance. Assistance may be required because there is / are slopes/ramps. The car park surface is tarmac. There is a dropped kerb / non stepped access from the car park to the venue.

Access

There wide double, level access doors to the entrance of the venue, clearly visually marked with signs. There are a number of large lifts within the venue. The lift does have a visual floor indicator and an audio indicator.

Toilets

There are accessible toilets within this venue designated for public use. The accessible toilet is 50m (55yd) from the accessible entrance, it is clearly visible and clearly sign posted. The toilets are fitted with accessible grab rails and is brightly lit.

Staff

Staff are available both within restaurants and the venue's cinema, and also in the general large are of the venue. Staff are easily found for required help/information and are friendly and accommodating.
