Excellent

I have been fortunate enough to be invited to the Houses of Parliament several times either for presentations, drinks on the terrace or dinner in Strangers restaurant. I have been into the chambers and the viewing gallery which are also fully accessible.

Disabled Access In and Around

Good

Entrance at Cromwell Green is by a long gentle metal ramp with priority to wheelchair users. You then must remove belts, watches, phones and have all bags scanned much like airport security. Once through security there is a smooth outside corridor past the jubilee cafe and you can access New Palace Yard which is very cobbled so avoid. The Palace of Westminster is very tired and there is constant renovation under way but whoever takes you will know the route. Everywhere has ramped access, the corridors are extra wide and carpeted. Strangers bar is tiny, cramped always busy and there are steps to the terrace. There is a main corridor which gives access to a gentle 1/10 stone ramp to the Thames Terrace.

Parking & Transport

Excellent

London has improved enormously since the Olympics in 2012 and most public transport can accommodate wheelchairs but the underground is still obviously hit n miss plagued by faulty lifts and stations with no access. The new eBlack cabs are much easier to get in and out. Entrance by Cromwell Green is best for those with restricted mobility

Accessible Toilets

Excellent

There are accessible WC's on ground floor (strangers bar) and on the first floor (strangers dining). The fittings are tired but ample space and clean. Next time I'll get photos inside, you are not allowed to take photos in the non public areas.

Staff

Excellent

There is always waiting staff to help push a chair user looking lost or struggling with the carpet.
