Tarbat Discovery Centre is a local heritage museum located in the seaside village of Portmahomack. Visitors to this historic site can explore remarkable displays of early medieval Pictish carvings, ancient stone artefacts, and a Viking silver hoard. Guests can also discover interactive archaeology pits for younger visitors, browse temporary exhibitions, and visit the gift shop featuring items made by local craft makers.
The venue provides step free access to the main entrance across a gravel pathway from an adjacent parking area. Inside the museum, a lift provides step free entry to most levels, with the exception of the historic crypt area. Visitors will also find an accessible toilet located on the ground level. Assistance dogs are welcome throughout the building to support visitors during their visit.
