Tebay Services M6 Northbound, Thumbs Up
This review is in relation to Tebay Services M6 (Northbound Only). There is plenty of disabled parking spaces (drive just past the main building and they are located before the petrol station). This services is VERY popular and so at busy times even the plenty of spaces may get full.
A short Zebra Crossing across from the Blue Badge parking spaces to the main building with a good wide level access and automatic doors.
Once inside the main building there is a good amount of space, the staff are very friendly and helpful. The shop (which sells some amazing local produce) is a little cramped for a wheelchair user and may be difficult for a person with a visual impairment. Reaching some of the produce is difficult, but again, the staff are more than happy to assist.
The restaurant is spaciously laid out and easy to navigate.
The accessible toilet is 'okay'. It is what I would describe as of a medium size. It is much better than a lot we see that are little more than a broom cupboard but it is not 'large'. I can manage perfectly well in my manual wheelchair but somebody in a larger electric chair may struggle for turning space or getting alongside the toilet to transfer. Grab rails are plentiful and the Red Cord was hanging correctly and had a Euan's Guide card attached before I arrived :)
