A very accessible supermarket, with plenty of accessibility features.

I am a disabled person and a carer or friend of a disabled person and a general supporter of disabled access. I have experience of challenges around: a hidden impairment, accessing toilets, dexterity or coordination and moving around.
Overall Rating
Good
Very easy access to the store with wide, automatic doors and plenty of room to maneouver with ease. There is an accessible bathroom, customer lift, escalators and places to take a seat should you need to rest.
Disabled Access In and Around
Excellent
The entrance to the supermarket is via very large automatic doors that are more than simple to maneouver through. As you enter the store, there is a disabled bathroom located very close to the in-store Cafe, which is located on the left side of the entrance. On the second floor there is the F&F clothing range which is accessed either via an escalator or a lift. I did not access this area, but I know from previous trips that the escalator can also be used with my wheelchair. (Be careful, I do not want to advocate for this if this is something you're not used to). There are seated areas around the store for customer use if you need a rest and I also spotted induction loop signage located around the store.

I travelled to this place by personal vehicle
There is a very large carpark with a good amount of disabled parking spaces, hundreds of standard spaces and plenty of parent & child spaces. The carpark is part of the Fforestfach retail park and as such there are more than ample spaces dotted around. Although it is a busy and very large store, there is always a disabled spot available for me to park in. There are EV charging points located in the carpark and links to public transport services a short distance away on foot.

Accessible Toilets

Suprisingly for such a large store there is only one accessible bathroom, however this is fairly easily accessed (It would be beneficial if the door opened from the opposite direction as there is a wall that can hinder your access, but I managed it on my own in my wheelchair). There are grab rails, a low-level sink, emergency red cord that reaches to the floor, enough space for a wheelchair transfer, but I think people who rely on powerchairs might struggle to turn around enough and may have to do a front transfer and use the toilet sideways instead. The cleanliness of the bathroom was not the best, it was very stinky and I couldn't use the facilities quick enough to escape the smell without breathing it in.

The biggest issue that I had at this store - the staff. I was met with some horribly uncomfortable looks from more than a handful of members of staff (Pity, disgust, ignorance..) At some points I had wandered away from my partner to go in search of whatever it is I wanted, and I had a couple of members of staff following me whilst looking around for anyone who was likely to be my carer. (My back and legs don't work properly - I'm not incapable of looking after myself in any shape or form, I just struggle to walk). When it came to purchasing my shopping, I used the self-scan tills and as I had an 18+ product in my shopping I had to wait for assistance to verify my age. The staff member working the self-scan area repeatedly ignored my request for help, along with the big, red flashing light on the machine to alert him to assistance needed also being ignored. It wasn't until my partner physically approached him and asked him for his assistance that he actually helped us. This store made me feel like a child who had lost their parent, they made me feel like I wasn't worthy of assistance because they couldn't "see" me in my wheelchair and after confronting the staff who had been following me for no good reason, they seemed to make it their mission to obstruct any aisles I was attempting to use with their online-shop trolleys.
