Afternoon tea at the Bonham Hotel
This review is especially helpful for those who have or use the following: Wheelchair
Lovely way to spend the afternoon . There were plenty of sandwiches and cakes. The staff were really helpful .
Transport & Parking
If you have a disabled blue badge then you can park on the single yellow line outside the hotel. Alternatively there is a small carpark behind the hotel which has one disabled space.
The hotel has both a front and back entrance. There are four steps at the front main door entrance so access by wheelchair requires a portable ramp which can be brought out when required . The staff are extremely helpful but the ramp is very steep and so requires the help of a strong assistant to push the wheelchair. Accessing at the main door put you at the ground level of the hotel. Alternatively there is a small carpark at the back of the hotel with a disabled car park space . The carpark can be accessed by driving down Lynedoch Place L,and. Once at the car park you need to go up a concrete ramp which will give you access to the basement kitchen where there is a lift but can take you to the ground level of the hotel.
The accessible toilet is on the ground floor. It is large so there is plenty of room to manoeuvre a wheelchair and have a carer in with you. There is also an emergency red cord.
The staff were extremely helpful both in accessing the main door using the portable ramp and also helping make space for the wheelchair at the table and providing things like straws et cetera.
Anything else you wish to tell us?
I would recommend the Bonham Hotel for afternoon tea.
