Venue Description

The Forum is Barrow's premier Arts and Media Centre, playing host to a wide variety of acts and shows ranging from comedy such as Lee Evans and Ed Byrne to musical concerts such as Heather Small (Lead singer of M People) and The Searchers. The Forum also plays host to Children's Theatre and is a home to many local amateur dramatics groups. Our function rooms can host up to 1000 people and feature next generation facilities. Our catering services provide professional service with that personal touch in our busy café and bar area which is open throughout the day and evenings. We are also fully wheelchair accessible with low gradient ramps leading to the front and rear of the building, large bathroom facilities on both levels and a wide entrance lift to the first floor.

Accessibility

All entrances are free from steps and have a very low gradient ramp for ease of access. External doors are automatic and very wide. All floors are level access with no slopes. The lift is wide access and can easily support larger wheelchairs/transportation devices providing ease of transport to and from the first floor. Access to the stage area is via manual wheelchair lift in which our staff are fully trained to use.

Accessible Performances

Depending entirely on the show, The Forum does cater for relaxed performances.

Toilets

All disabled toilets are large enough to support powered wheelchairs and are complete with grab rails. All taps and locks are easy turn.
