    About

The Glasshouse is a home for live music lovers. It’s a place where you can hear rock legends or pop icons on the same night as folk trios or opera singers. Where new musicians are nurtured and showcased on the same stages as platinum-selling performers. And where youth choirs and tambourine-shaking toddlers practise in the same spaces as our acclaimed orchestra, Royal Northern Sinfonia. As a charity we’re focused on making sure all of that is available to anyone – no matter where you’re from, how old you are, how much money you have, or what challenges you face.

    A Fantastic Musical Venue

We enjoyed a fantastic afternoon listening to and watching The Royal Northern Sinfonia and Choir with a brilliant programme of music from The Star Wars Films. The Acoustics of the Sage are second to none. This venue stages many concerts with well known and popular local acts, together with encouraging young and old to enjoy music making!

    Beautiful accessible building

This is one of best music venues in England, a beautiful venue and access is good. I saw the wonderful Susanne Vega here a few weeks back.

    Disabled parking warning!!!

Visited Sage as we have done many times before & parked in a designated disabled bay. On return several cars in row had received parking tickets. No indication in individual bays that parking suspended. One (maybe A4 size) notice on lamppost several bays down, not visible from our bay, said suspended during building work. Appeal on basis of inadequate signage has been rejected as "responsibility of driver to check that bay is in use". Ticket issued ONE minute after event start time. Land is owned by Gateshead Council.
