Disabled travellers enjoyable lunch in Sutton Coldfield

Our lunch today will be taken at the recommended pub for you in the Royal town of Sutton Coldfield. Just a few miles from the town centre, stands “The Green House” pub and although situated on a main road, we do recommend this pleasant little pub, as the interior and furnishings are comfortable and cosy, and the food is again very good as is usual with any of “premium country pub collection “ meals. There’s an excellent menu, worth the extra cost above normal Inns, and you know you will be presented with dishes that have been prepared carefully, and HOT when the waitress service brings the meal to your table. Standing on the main Lichfield Road, Four Oaks, there are two entrances for the car parks. We suggest pulling in on the left car park right up by the disabled bays outside main entrance into the Pub. TAKE NOTE. of the need to register your car at reception PLEASE DO NOT FORGET to do this. There are a number of disabled bays available, and usually another warning to register the car as you enter the pub. If you want to simply relax with a pint, then you may enter via the front entrance directly into the bar area, comfortable enough, with wooden seating. Or of course enter via the level flat doorway up to the bar. The screen to register your car is immediately on the left before the bar. The entrance is inviting, pleasantly decorated simply with attractive furnishings. The staff will asked if you have reserved a table, and WE STRONGLY RECOMMEND you do book in advance, for even at lunch time, it’s busy. HOWEVER, the group does not always acknowledge you have pre booked, which we find rather annoying, as being disabled we want them to know about our request for support, but in all our visits to various restaurants within the group, they have taken good care of us. The restaurant itself is delightful, excellent standard of furnishing, tables and chairs comfortable and in good order. The menu is very good, and you know you will enjoy whatever dish you order. however, the salad dish may be better avoided as the greens are not the usual salad greens we expect and may course problems for some. However, my wife did select the “Super Green salad” while I chose the Chefs daily special, of “British Steak and Malbec pie” oh, this was good, packed with chunky pieces of steak in a very nice pastry baked and crusty base. Vegetables provided are of good quality and well presented. Now the good bit. We belong to the “The rewards card club” and we do so recommend you join this club, their offers are quite outstanding, and the more you dine at any of their hotels and pubs, the better the complementary offers are, and our offer from the club was outstanding this time. We selected their offer of a FULL bottle of a wine from France, CHABLIS 1er cru 2023 with a usual bottle cost of £51. and as it was our offer, it cost us nothing at all. It’s a top class luxury wine from VIN de Bourgogne, MONTMAINS by Jean Collet and fils, and boy did we enjoy this lovely White wine, it’s an excellent aperitif as well as a main course wine. It was young with a fair green hue, clear bright sharp appearance It had what we call the German note, sweet grass with a Lime hint bouquet Dry, dull tarte lemony and grassy notes, and to us. a Medium body. We gave the wine 7.5 /10 points. If you can afford £51 you won’t be disappointed, but better still, join the club for free, and wait until you receive this offer from the club. Dessert taken was again Chefs selection for myself, a truly delightful Sicilian Lemon tart, full of lemon flavours, a cherry Amaretto compote and meringue pieces. My wife selected the ever available Home baked chocolate brownie with Bourbon vanilla ice cream, and for her it was just the right portion of a small piece of the brownie. The wine lasted through the meal, with enough left to finish our lunch, a wonderful treat for us today. The accessible toilet lies just behind the bar, and again, you will need a radar key, or ask staff for their key from the bar. It’s the usual plain, small but clean and well maintained toilet, with pull cord and handrails. All in all, we recommend this pleasant pub for its high standard of cleanliness, and its plush furnishings, good service, with excellent dishes. “”””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””” We have reviewed other places around Sutton Coldfield for you, MOOR HALL HOTEL AND SPA. 5* NEW HALL HOTEL AND SPA. 4* PREMIER INN BIRMINGHAM NORTH SUTTON COLDFIELD HOTEL (poor) CHASE FARM AND SHOP. 3.5* BEFRY HOTEL AND RESORT. 5* Do take a look, and enjoy the history given about the places
