Overview

The Hytte is a lovely home from home accommodation and fully accessible for people who use wheelchairs. All equipment is available including hoist, shower chair and electric profiling beds. Sonja and Simon have thought of everything. It is all level access set in lovely grounds with a nice decking area and it is totally private. It also has a hot tub and sauna!

Transport & Parking

There is ample parking right outside The Hytte and room for turning vehicles also. We did not use public transport as we had our own minibus so unable to comment. There is lots to see and do in Northumberland but you will need transport or access to transport as The Hytte is set in a small village lane.

Access

The Hytte has ramped access to the front and large patio doors opening out on to a large decking area. Access to this is level. The Hytte is single story with wooden floors throughout so is ideal for people who use wheelchairs or other mobility aids. There are two electric profiling beds with bed rails and an electric recliner chair. Even the hot tub is accessible for people who need to use a hoist to access this. There are two bathrooms and one has a level access shower. there are grab rails in the bathrooms

Toilets

Ample space in the bathroom for turning / manoeuvring a wheelchair or other aid. Spotlessly clean and tidy and clutter free. Plenty of space for Carers to support. Grab rails in situ.

Staff

Sonja and Simon were really friendly and helpful and gave us a courtesy call on the first evening to make sure everything was ok. They are only a phone call away if you need anything.

Would recommend this accommodation without a doubt. the owners have thought of everything to make your stay comfortable & enjoyable. We took two ladies who have disabilities and use wheelchairs and never encountered any issues. the accommodation is spacious but very homely. We are looking at booking for next year!
