    Good

Booked a table for three on a Tuesday early evening during the Fringe Festival. Given a table near the entrance which made coming in and out with a wheelchair easy, though the accessible toilet is on the other side of the ground floor of the restaurant. We opted for the ‘Taste of Scotland’ set menu - there is an al a carte menu too. The food was good. The staff were attentive and very helpful (ensuring I had a clear path passed other customers to get to the toilet when I needed it). The toilet was clean with grab rails for support.

    Disabled Access In and Around

    Good

When we booked, we made clear I was a wheelchair user. The restaurant gave us a table on the ground floor, which is where the accessible toilet is located. There is a dining area upstairs but I am not sure if there is lift access to it.

    Accessible facilities: Step-free entrance

    Parking & Transport

I travelled to this place by walk or wheel

We wheeled across from our hotel in the Old Town just off the Royal Mile to St Andrew’s Square.

Clean toilet on the ground floor. It is on the far side from the restaurant entrance.

    Excellent

Very attentive. When I asked for directions to the toilet, a member of staff went ahead ensuring there was a clear path for my wheelchair, saving me the bother of repeatedly asking other customers to tuck in chairs/move bags. Also, being a non-drinker the desserts on the ‘Taste of Scotland’ set menu which all some alcohol in them were not suitable for me, the waitress offered options from all a carte menu but charged as per set menu.

    Additional Information

Although the Fringe Festival is a busy time of the year in Edinburgh (and the restaurant was busy), we had no problems making our booking a week or two in advance.
