Lovely visit to an interesting & beautiful gardens. With a cafe, gift shop & accessible toilet.

Excellent

A great visit to this beautiful gardens with my husband. The first car park we went to is fine gravel & easily accessible if a lttle bit bumpy, however when we went further into the gardens there’s plenty of dedicated accessible parking spaces near the entrance/toilets/gift shop & cafe. The perimeter path is fine gravel & accessible for my power chair. There are information boards explaining about the gardens at different areas through the gardens. We were given a paper guide to the gardens on entry.There is a wooded area which is not recommended for wheelchairs. The cafe, gift shop & toilet are all accessible.

Disabled Access In and Around

Good

I had my electric wheelchair however there were other people there with manual wheelchairs being pushed around. The paths are mainly finished in fine gravel which is accessible for all wheelchairs & people with reduced mobility. There are various places sit down throughout the garden. I did not pay attention to any other alternative formats - sorry. There is an accessible cafe & small gift shop, there is also an outside picnic area with plenty of seats.

I travelled to this place by personal vehicle

Parking area as you arrive at the gardens but if you carry on into the actual entrance there are about 5 or 6 dedicated accessible parking bays on tarmac. There was no charge for parking.

Accessible Toilets

Good

The accessible toilets were adequate for use with my wheelchair with plenty of grab rails & a red emergency cord. It was clean & well maintained.
