Overview
I have been going to RIAT (Royal International Air Tattoo) for the last few years and I'm pretty impressed with their facilities. The access in general is very good although a bit of a walk from the checkpoint (100% necessary to keep everyone safe bless them). They have loads of accessible toilets and several changing places blocks, there are ear defenders available for purchase if you have a problem with the sound. There are free shuttle buses along the airfield which are great to hop on so you haven't got to walk far. It can be very busy but there are plenty of places to sit and lots of help available. There are accessible stands complete with toilet facilities and seating to watch the runway and flying displays. There is bookable disabled (blue badge) parking on the airfield saving a significant amount of walking etc.
Transport & Parking
We travelled by train to Swindon and caught the free shuttle to the airfield. Using Travel Assist makes this much easier.
Access
The access in general is very good although a bit of a walk from the checkpoint (100% necessary to keep everyone safe bless them). There are no steps, I'm pretty sure there is assistance for people who have restricted sight.
Toilets
These are pretty good and there are several changing places units across the airfield. In general their pretty clean, and tidy and handrails are in place.
Staff
Everyone I've met has been wonderful from those doing the scanning at the checkpoint to anyone who you ask anything about a particular aircraft.
Anything else you wish to tell us?
There are hand sanitizer points spread across the airfield. I'm certainly looking forward to going again this year!
