Overview

We found this pub on the internet when looking for somewhere for an evening meal before we visited the area. I contacted them to find out about access for a wheelchair user and also about the menu as I have a number of foods I have to avoid . I have to say they were fantastic the pub is in an area called handbridge , the pub over looks the river Dee. Great views from the garden in the summer. The pub manager contacted me back straight away saying they had a metal ramp which they would put up outside upon my arrival so I could get in . The pub is set over three floors but I would only be able to access the ground floor but this would not be a problem. Turns out the pub is very busy so definitely need to book which we did . I had explained about my allergies caused by my medication and which items I have to avoid . The chef was able to come up with quite a number of options for me. I chose the chicken in red wine jus with vegetables and mash. My husband had a steak, peas, onions and chips . The food was amazing I can see why it’s so busy . The staff were great too so helpful holding doors for us and moving. Chairs and tables to make it easier for me to get to our table. We would certainly visit again when next in the area.

Transport & Parking

Only on road parking but plenty of it. We parked just the other side of the bridge over the river Dee and my husband pushed me down in the wheelchair. The had lower kerbs to cross the roads at both sets of traffic lights

Access

Access was very good staff came and out the metal ramp down for us to enter and leave . They held the doors open as well

All the staff were fantastic and went out of their way to accommodate my needs and the chef came up with an excellent choice of meals for me. We would certainly visit again when in the area but would definitely pre book a table and let them know about my allergies which is what we did this time
