Overview

A tasty treat at a very pleasant Inn, which is unpretentious, basic decorations, wooden tables, but clean and tidy. It is a busy and popular Inn, the lunch time carvery gets full very quickly, so expect a que, although we arrived at 12 noon as it opened and managed very well. WE RECOMMEND you book though, as people without bookings were asked to use the Bar lounge, which is small, and very basic, and a wheelchair user will struggle in the Bar area, while others had to be turned away. Difficult to use disabled toilet though, as you need to go through the Bar lounge to get to it, with hardly enough room to get chair along, then you need to have a radar key, or ask staff to open door for you, not ideal either, as it is very basic and small. However, the carvery was very nice, well cooked and fresh, with a good selection, and we shall personally be going back when in the area. Parking was easy enough, but drive along the lane off the main A38 on the Upton Warren sign, to reach car park beyond the Swan Inn, then ride along the lane to reach the narrow ramp at the rear front of Inn. We suggest you book in advance, and tell them on your booking form you are disabled and will have a chair with you, then they reserve a spot where chair can be placed for you. The carvery is very good, a nice selection, and well cooked, and the cost is excellent, Under £8 on our visit in December 2022, and you may also ask for their meat free plate, and just help yourself without any meat, and that was just over £6, a very good idea.

Easy to find as on A38, near Bromsgrove, West Midlands. Large car park beyond the Inn and close to the entrance for the Inn.

Access

It is only a short way from the main car park and up a narrow passage alongside the rear side of the Inn, then a pull handle door takes you inside, through another pull handle door. It is busy here, and a bit of a tight fit for wheelchairs to reach seating, and only a few spots where a chair can be placed, but the buffet area does allow space if you wish to see what is on offer. Toilets are difficult though.

Toilets

Very difficult to get through the Bar lounge to reach toilet, and you will need a radar key to use toilet, or ask at desk for door to be opened for you. It is very small inside, and just very basic, clean enough, but not inspiring you to rush again. It has grab rails and pull cord

So so, however, Chef was pleasant enough.
