Overview

Since lockdown ended the White Horse has come back better than ever. The food has always been excellent but the new locally inspired menu has reached new heights. On this occasion we enjoyed Sunday lunch with a lovely vegetation option. Local beef is on the menu too for meat eaters.

Transport & Parking

They have a small car park at the back including a marked disabled bay near the back door. Parking outside in The Square can be difficult at busy times but with reduced numbers due to Covid there is usually space. We are lucky that we can walk easily and I roll there in my wheelchair. The village has a train station with services to Banbury, Oxford and London.

Access

The front door is almost level with just a small lip. The one way system for Covid takes you out the back which is possible in some wheelchairs but does require a tight right angle turn and then up a low step. My electric chair can do it but in practice I give notice that I will go out the front against the flow. The wonderful staff know that I come in a wheelchair and always have a suitable table for me to get to with a chair removed.

Toilets

There is an accessible loo but it is not signed and is not with the other toilets. It is small so only really suitable for those who can stand to use the toilet. Dogs are welcome in the bar but not normally in the restaraunt. I'm sure an assistance dog would be welcome but let them know in advance and I'm sure they would find a suitable table.

Staff

The staff are simply excellent and willing to go out of their way to help. Service is prompt, knowledgable and friendly.
