The World of Mechanical Music is a living museum of the extraordinary variety of self-playing musical instruments and automata which were the pride and joy of our Great Grandparents, and the only kind of "canned" musical entertainment available in the home before regular broadcasting started up in 1924. All the instruments are maintained in the most perfect possible order in our world-famous workshops on the premises, and introduced and played by our well informed guides in the form of a live entertainment.

Fascinating little gem in the heart of the Cotswold.

Wonderful tiny museum telling the story of mechanical music machines from the 18th to 20th century.Guided tours with demonstrations of exquisite music boxes through barrel organs, early phonographs and gramophones to precursors of juke boxes and 'live' performances by Gershwin and Rachmaninov using original piano rolls. Quirky , inspirational and enjoyable .

Disabled Access at The World Of Mechanical Music

Our entire exhibit is 100% mobility friendly, with wide door ways, gentle slopes and ramps to ease access and disabled toilet facilities. Due to the nature of our collection being very sound orientated we are also an excellent choice for visually impaired persons. We are situated in the town centre with cafes, bars and shops close by.
