Overview
We visited this year to see the Autumn colours which are glorious. Previously, we had gone in spring to see the blossom and the carpets of bluebells - it's definitely worth a visit at any time. You can hire a sturdy scooter for £1 and they provide you with a map showing the best routes for wheelchair users . Some of the paths are a bit rough, but most are fine gravel or grass, although these can get muddy - it's best if you can visit after a few dry days.
Transport & Parking
There are marked bays near the entrance but on busy days these might all get full, however there is plenty of space . You need to pre-book the scooters by ringing 01677 427203.
Access
A few paths might be a bit rough for some chairs but the sturdy 'off-road' type scooters they hire out can cope fine if you don't mind a bit of bumpiness. It might be difficult to access the cafe in a a big scooter (I've never tried) but there are plenty of outside tables for when the weather is fine. The cakes are wonderful!
Toilets
There is an accessible loo near the cafe and another at the bird of prey centre, both of which are really spacious with plenty of grab rails.
Staff
Even when it is really busy they are helpful and friendly.
Anything else you wish to tell us?
We made the mistake of going at half term when there was an event on for kids but even so, we had uninterrupted views of the fabulous acers!
