    Thorp Perrow

    About

Thorp Perrow Arboretum boasts one of the largest collections of shrubs and trees in the North of England. In spring, snowdrops, crocuses and daffodils lift the spirits, followed by bluebells and clouds of fragrant blossom. Summer sees a riot of colour and an abundance of wildlife. Through Autumn, leaf colour changes set the woodland trails ablaze. The Arboretum houses one of the largest Bird of Prey and Mammal centres in the North, offering fascinating flying demonstrations, and the chance to get to know some of the best-loved characters such as Colin the Owl, and Douglas the Meerkat. The packed diary of events offers something for everyone, from family event days, open-air tribute band concerts, to expert-led tours and walks. In December, children can visit Santa in his Winter Wonderland Grotto, and ghosts and ghouls come out to play for the fright-filled Halloween Trail in October.
