Accessible Worship in a venue for the community
This review is especially helpful for those who have or use the following: Walking Aid, Wheelchair, Powerchair, Mobility Scooter
This is a church for all ages. It’s a good place to find out more about the Christian faith and how it connects with daily life. I attend this church every week, either online or in person. Eventbrite booking via website. Ramped access. Handrail at steps. Hearing loop. Amplification. Service streamed live on YouTube. Accessible fonts on display screen. Clear signage. Disabled toilet. Removable seats to provide wheelchair spaces. A person dedicated to ensuring accessibility and inclusion for all.
Transport & Parking
There is limited parking next to the church in Murray Square and includes a disabled parking bay. The local bus bay is also at Murray Square with access to many local towns.
There is a temporary ramp at the front door which is generally down when the building is open. There are plans for the installation of a permanent ramp providing access to the side door and into the rear hall. From here the doorways are wide enough for a small scooter or a wheelchair to get through to the main church. There is an induction loop, plenty of seating. Projection of text is suitably large.
One disabled toilet in rear hall but it is also the only men's toilet. It has hand rails and space for manoeuvrability. It's clean and tidy.
A welcoming atmosphere. Mostly friendly volunteers and members of the congregation are willing to help if needed. A person dedicated to ensuring accessibility and inclusion for all.
