Overview
We visited on a rainy day during the summer having been before - this was our first visit since my husband started using a wheelchair.
Transport & Parking
Small car park opposite the museum with two blue badge spaces - we have never had any issues finding a space there.
Access
The museum is in an old building but every effort has been made to make it accessible. Some uneven surfaces but we did not find these an issue. There is a lift at both ends of the museum so you don’t have to mess around going back to the beginning when you are on the first floor. There is plenty of seating throughout and a quiet cosy cabin for anyone who may feel overstimulated. Some of the corridors and doorways are narrow but manageable in a wheelchair i.e. in the old street, but there are also some very open spaces as well. It is dark in places due to the nature of the building and exhibitions. The cafe on site ‘Little Darlings’ is accessible and does lovely food.
Toilets
Large and clean. The red cord had been tied up hence the 4 but otherwise good.
Staff
Staff very helpful and friendly.
