A nice and easy shopping experience

    Date of visit: January 2026

I am a disabled person and a carer or friend of a disabled person and a general supporter of disabled access. I have experience of challenges around: a hidden impairment, accessing toilets, dexterity or coordination and moving around.

Automatic doors, customer lifts, seating, wide aisles and easy-to-reach products.

    Disabled Access In and Around

    Rating Emoji

    Excellent

There are automatic doors upon entering the store and wide aisles throughout, making it fairly simple to maneouver around with a wheelchair. On the left as you enter the store there is a customer lift that easily holds a wheelchair and a companion to access the second level. There are also stairs should you prefer/are able to use them, located just beside the lift itself. At the rear of the store there is seating for trying on footwear (or just to have a rest).

Accessible facilities: Lift to all areas, Step-free entrance, Seating at regular intervals

I travelled to this place by personal vehicle

TK Maxx is located within Trostre retail park and as such has a very large, dedicated carpark. There are ample disabled parking bays alongside parent & child, general and EV charging parking spots. Nearby is a taxi rank which is located outside Tesco Extra - a short distance away on foot and easily accessed via wheel/powerchairs. There are also links to public bus services which are also a short distance away on foot.

Accessible facilities: Electric Vehicle Charging, Dedicated on-site parking

    Accessible Toilets

I did not notice any public bathroom facilities available at this store.

    Staff

    Rating Emoji

    Good

I have only ever interacted with staff that are working the till areas at this store, however they always seem friendly and make sure to pass anything I purchase to me so that I don't struggle to reach. They operate a fast-paced till service, so once you have paid, they are already calling the next customer forward - this can put some pressure on you to pack your shopping, hang it on your chair and get out of the way for the next customer.
