As the name suggests, this tram stop is handy for Blackpool Tower and the Comedy Carpet right opposite, but Coral Island and Showtown Blackpool are even closer. The only difficulty there is that the only pedestrian crossing in the vicinity is about 70 metres north along the promenade opposite the Tower. I still managed to cross opposite Coral Island as there are lowered curbs, but you are reliant on the mercy of the cars and there are no tactile markings.
Disabled Access In and Around
Good
The tram stop has two platforms with the tracks in between them. The platform on the side of the sea is for the northbound trams to Knott’s End Ferry and the platform on the side of the road is for the trams heading south to Starr Gate. Both platforms have large shelters with two benches and a timetable. The benches do not have a backrest or armrests. Each platform has two wheelchair symbols on the ground that line up with the wider doors on the trams. The doors of the trams are approximately at the same level as the platforms, so there are no ramps needed. I always managed to get onto the tram in my powerchair, but I did find that it was a little bit higher than the platform and I struggled when it was raining and everything was slippery. The platforms are elevated from the street level, so there are slopes up on either side. The slopes and the edge of the platforms are indicated with tactile markings. There are lowered curbs on either side of the platform crossing the tracks, but only the southern one (the left one if looking towards the sea) has tactile markings. The pedestrian promenade connects to the northbound platform on both ends. There are no pedestrian crossings to access the tram stop from the other side of the road. There are lowered curbs on both sides at the southern end of the platforms, but you are reliant on the cooperation of the car drivers to let you across. There are also no tactile markings, so coming from the other side of the road rather than from the promenade would be quite challenging for people who are visually impaired. There is a pedestrian crossing in front of the Blackpool Tower, which is about 70 metres north of the tram stop.

The tram stop is next to the Promenade Stop 4 (2, 5, 5A, 5B, 6, 11, 11A, 11B, 21, 68, 68C) and opposite the Sands bus stop (2, 11, 21, 68, 68C). The closest on-street parking is on Bonny Street, about 180 metres away, where you can also find the Central Surface Car Park and Central Multi-Storey Car Park (on the far side of the surface car park, about another 150 metres). Houndshill Shopping Centre, which also has a car park, is a 0.2-mile/5-minute walk or wheel away.
Accessible Toilets
There are no toilets at this station. There are several accessible bathrooms at Blackpool Tower and also a Changing Places toilet, although I do not believe it to be up to current standards and a member of staff is needed to take you to it.
Staff
Good
I have found the tram staff to be friendly and helpful. Sometimes there will be staff at the tram stops, but more commonly there will be two conductors on the tram who can assist you with boarding and buying your tickets.
