Overview

This is my 'go to' venue in York - for appropriate buys and coffee or lunch. There are only three shops (M&S, Next and John Lewis) but quite a few cafes and restaurants. I always park in the same place (outside the food hall of M&S) because a member of staff will always come out to help me get my mobility scooter from the car.

Transport & Parking

I purposely park in a blue badge area that is right outside the main entrance of the food hall of M&S. There are other blue badge parking bays, but they are too far from main entrances for me.

Access

I can only talk for a person with a physical impairment using a mobility scooter. Access is perfect - lifts in each shop. The signs for the lifts aren't obvious for newcomers but just ask the approachable staff. Access from shop to shop is also good - smooth ground between each.

Toilets

The accessible loos in M&S are perfect (especially with the added Euan's guide 'red cord emergency' cards. The loos in other venues (eg Cafe Nero and Giraffe restaurant) are good but have small things to change to make them perfect too - for example, pedal-powered bins - a bugbear of mine.

Staff

All the staff I've come across in each separate building in the retail park are very friendly and approachable. They're always pleased to help.
