Good
Having been a regular over the last few years it is no longer ou4 first choice. The hotel is very wheelchair friendly throughout and has a good restaurant, sports bar nd leisure facilities. It is 2 minutes from the M62 and 5 minutes from our daughters so location is also very good. Unfortunately the management need to refocus on the needs of the disabled customer.
Disabled Access In and Around
Excellent
The hotel is level throughout with wide door ways, well signed toilets and a lift to all floors.
Parking & Transport
Excellent
With 15 disabled spaces spread on either side of the entrance and also immediately opposite it could not be better.
Accessible Toilets
Excellent
An excellent disabled loo near to the restaurant and bar area. It has numerous grab rails and alarm chord but it is a little tight for my power chair. Cleanliness is first class.
Staff
Excellent
We have always found the staff friendly and efficient.
Additional Information
I booked online then rang to confirm an accessible room with a walk in shower. On arrival we were allocated a room with a bath and an open window where the closing mechanism was broken. My wife was told that reception cannot see if an accessible room has a bath or shower, which is poor. We were then moved to a room where both alarm chords were tied up well above the height needed by a disabled person on the floor. When I tried to untangle the one in the wet room I set it off which got an immediate response from reception. That response was great and very reassuring but out of reach is no good to any disabled occupant of the room. The control for heating and ventilation was out of order...though in fairness the room temperature overnight was OK. So the hotel charges have increased but, unfortunately, standards are going the other way.
